AAKM Vision

Our Vision

American Association of Korean Medicine(AAKM) pursue the health and happiness of mankind for our mission.
The core vision of AAKM is:

  1. To serve as a networking platform for doctors of Korean Medicine in America, thereby facilitating mutual exchange.
  2. To raise awareness of Korean Medicine outside of Korea to boost the stature of Korean Medicine and doctors of Korean Medicine in the global community.
  3. We aim to contribute to the betterment of society and to heighten public health values of Korean Medicine, through personal & academic collaboration with relevant organizations and by providing community service.

  1. To cooperate with doctors of Korean Medicine in Korea and with Korean government organizations to maintain our legitimacy and cause.
  2. To organize non-profit conferences – run by volunteer services from members and lecturers.
  3. To act as a bridge for sharing Korean Medicine with the global community.
  4. To help the development of the medical industry with Korean Medicine.
  5. To boost the stature of Koreans and Korean Medicine in the USA.
  6. To conduct systematic research and accumulate data related to Korean Medicine in the USA.
  7. To be a leader in integrative medicine in the USA.
  8. To be a model for the development of integrative medicine in Korea.

Timeline

  • March, 2020 ~ : COVID-19 TF Team was organized in collaboration with the Association of Korean Medicine (AKOM) to provide volunteer service for Korean Americans in the United States (Vice-Chairman Jin, Senghee)
  • Feb 28, 2020: 2nd executive team was established with Lee, Young-bin and Kim, Hong-soon elected as co-presidents
  • April 6-7, 2019: 3rd National academic conference was held at Englewood Hospital in New Jersey (subject: infertility and pediatric disease)
  • Nov, 2018: Joint academic conference was held with Virginia University of Integrative Medicine (Virginia branch)
  • May 12-13, 2018: 2nd National academic conference was held at Englewood Hospital in New Jersey (subject: pain and neurological disease)
  • Dec, 2017: Misc. activities – meeting was held with the Ministry of Health and Welfare (South Korea)
  • Dec 3, 2017: Joint seminar was held with the Korean Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine Association of New York (KAOMANY), clinical presentation by Na, Sungsoo and three others
  • 2017: Participated in K-con event, Newark NJ and Society for Integrative Oncology (SIO)
  • May 13-14, 2017: 1st National academic conference was held at Dongguk University in Los Angeles (subject: obesity and arthritis, lectures provided by 12 guest lecturers)
  • 2016: Misc. academic exchange activities with Donguibogam Academy, Sports Korean Medicine Academy, and New York’s Korean Medicine Society. Korean Medicine was introduced at CCAOM
  • Nov 20, 2016: An education event was hosted at New York academic conference. (Lecturers: Song, Ho-Jeong, Kim, Jeong-Hwa, Yoon, Hyung-Jun)
  • Jun 24 ~ 25, 2016: Provided medical service at KCON (Korean Wave Cultural Event) event in Prudential Park – promotion and treatment of Korean Medicine at a Kpop Event
  • Jun 3 ~ 5, 2016: Provided medical service at LPGA – promotion and treatment of LPGA ShopRite Classic players, coaches and spectators
  • Feb 20, 2016: 29 doctors of Korean Medicine organized AAKM (American Association Korean Medicine) in New York, USA, with Song, Ho-Jeong elected as the first president of AAKM.
  • Nov 11, 2015: Provided medical service for veterans and visited a nursing home hospital -participated at the US Day ceremony with the Ministry of Health and Welfare (South Korea) for Korean veterans
