Conducted 2023 Online Autumn Academic Conference as an official American branch of the Association of Korean Medicine (AKOM) – Recognized for Continuing Medical Education (CME) by the Association of Korean Medicine (AKOM) 

Oct

The 4th AAKM American National Academic Conference was held online and offline at Irvine, CA (Subject : Discovering Korean Medicine in the U.S.; Latest Trends in Pain Management and Cosmetic Acupuncture)

Conducted 2023 Online Spring Academic Conference as an official American branch of the Association of Korean Medicine (AKOM) – Recognized for Continuing Medical Education (CME) by the Association of Korean Medicine (AKOM)

3rd executive team was established with Lee, Jonghwa elected as president

Participated in 2022 Online Academic Conferences as an official American branch of the Association of Korean Medicine (AKOM) – Recognized for Continuing Medical Education (CME) by the Association of Korean Medicine (AKOM)

2021

DEC

AAKM begins its first official activities as an American branch of the Association of Korean Medicine. Amending the articles of association, revising detailed regulations, and obtaining approval for online academic conferences as an official subcommittee

COVID-19 TF Team successfully concluded its mission of providing services for Korean Americans in the United States, led by Vice-Chairman Jin, Senghee. They served diligently from March 2020 to December 2021, dedicating approximately 22 months to the cause.  

2020

DEC

The American Association of Korean Medicine (AAKM) received the Hyemin Award for its exceptional efforts in advancing COVID-19 care using Korean medicine in the United States. Additionally, the Korean Medical COVID-19 Treatment Center won the top prize at the 2020 Hyemin Award, which is hosted by the Association of Korean Medicine. 

NOV

Approved as the American Branch of the Korean Medical Association. The Korean Medical Association has been approved by the Ministry of Health and Welfare of South Korea to establish the American Branch of the Korean Medical Association in the United States.  

JUL

AAKM, with support from the Korean Medical Association, provided free COVID-19 related telephone consultations and remote medical consultations across the United States. This voluntary service aimed to address the shortage of medical personnel during the pandemic and was made available nationwide. 

Mar

COVID-19 TF Team was organized in collaboration with the Association of Korean Medicine (AKOM) to provide volunteer service for Korean Americans in the United States (Vice-Chairman Jin, Senghee), the TF team continued its mission until December 2021

Feb

2nd executive team was established with Lee, Young-bin and Kim, Hong-soon elected as co-presidents

2019

APR

3rd National academic conference was held at Englewood Hospital in New Jersey (subject: infertility and pediatric disease)

2018

NOV

Joint academic conference was held with Virginia University of Integrative Medicine (Virginia branch)

May

2nd National academic conference was held at Englewood Hospital in New Jersey (subject: pain and neurological disease)

2017

Dec

Misc. activities – meeting was held with the Ministry of Health and Welfare (South Korea)

Joint seminar was held with the Korean Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine Association of New York (KAOMANY), clinical presentation by Na, Sungsoo and three others

Participated in K-con event, Newark NJ and Society for Integrative Oncology (SIO)

MAY

1st National academic conference was held at Dongguk University in Los Angeles (subject: obesity and arthritis, lectures provided by 12 guest lecturers)

2016

Misc. academic exchange activities with Donguibogam Academy, Sports Korean Medicine Academy, and New York’s Korean Medicine Society. Korean Medicine was introduced at CCAOM 

NOV

An education event was hosted at New York academic conference. (Lecturers: Song, Ho-Jeong, Kim, Jeong-Hwa, Yoon, Hyung-Jun)

Provided medical service at KCON (Korean Wave Cultural Event) event in Prudential Park – promotion and treatment of Korean Medicine at a Kpop Event

Provided medical service at LPGA – promotion and treatment of LPGA ShopRite Classic players, coaches and spectators

Feb

29 doctors of Korean Medicine organized AAKM (American Association Korean Medicine) in New York, USA, with Song, Ho-Jeong elected as the first president of AAKM.

2015

Provided medical service for veterans and visited a nursing home hospital -participated at the US Day ceremony with the Ministry of Health and Welfare (South Korea) for Korean veterans
